James Anthony Bowman, 52 of Hamilton, IL, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at his home. He was born on May 24, 1955 in Burlington, IA the son of Fred and Jean Bowman. He was married to Teresa Westermeyer in 1975 and they divorced in 1984. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2000. James had been employed as manager for the Pyramid Life Insurance Agency. He enjoyed playing golf. Survivors include his daughter, Carla Sue Rhodes of Hamilton, IL, his son, Marcus DeWayne Bowman of Hamilton, IL, his mother, Jean Bowman of Omaha, NB, two sisters, Vicki Meadows and her husband Don of Omaha, NB and Pam Cole and her husband Mike of Minnesota, three grandchildren, Megan Marie Rhodes and Drew Alexander Rhodes of Hamilton, IL and Conner Jay Roberts Bowman of Springfield, MO and a special friend Deirdre "Dee Dee" West of Glenwood, IA. He was also preceded in death by his father and one sister, Debra Bowman. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dale Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
