Obituary

Jack E. Starr, 91 of Hamilton, IL went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2023 with his family by his side.

He was born July 27, 1932 in Keokuk the son of Ralph and Joanna Roberts Starr.

On August 7, 1951 he was united in marriage to Maxine Carle in Keokuk, IA. For seventy-two years they shared a love which saw them through the joys and sorrows of life. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons; Jack W. Starr of Roseville, IL, and Brad Starr of Keokuk, one daughter, Dianna Pratt (Duane) of Berwick, IL, six grandchildren; Nathan Starr, Heather Spory (Adam), Amy Wallace (James), Breann Esindu (Harold), Zachary Pratt (Selena) and Trista Mayer, and nine great grandchildren; Gracy, Alex, Paige, Ava, Ryker, Henley, Addy, Rhiannon and Rhaydon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Carol Sue, a son, Mike Starr, a brother, Richard Starr and a sister, Vera Boyd.

In 1953, Jack was drafted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Jack was a dedicated employee of Pepsi and delivered Pepsi all over the tri-state area over twenty nine and a half years and retired in 2002.

He was a faithful servant of the New Testament Christian Church. He served as an elder, deacon and Shepard, exemplifying his deep-rooted faith and devotion to his spiritual family.

Jack enjoyed indulging in the pages of Louis L'Amour books and any other type of western books, he also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles. He showcased his craftsmanship by building birdhouses shaped like Pepsi trucks, churches and other buildings and generously donated them to Keokuk Christian Academy. He also briefly volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Roseville Rehabilitation and Health Center in Roseville, Illinois.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
