Jack Carl Gorham, 79 of Keokuk, IA died Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born February 6, 1933 in Mount Union, IA the son of Cecil Joe and Dimple Fern Aldrich Gorham. On November 28, 1964 he was united in marriage to Mary Fogle in Quincy, IL. She survives. Other survivors include two brothers, John Gorham of Ft. Madison, IA and Dick Gorham of Keokuk, IA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Bob Gorham, Max Gorham, Wilbur Gorham and Ted Gorham and five sisters, Doris Hufendick, Delma Krome, Donna Day, Wanda Mohrlang and Wahneta Mohrlang. Jack graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1952. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War and also in Germany. Jack had been employed at Gaylord Container in St. Louis, MO and Hoerner Boxes in Keokuk, IA, retiring in 1993 after thirty years of work. Jack was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA. Jack enjoyed bowling and woodworking and made amazing tables and cabinets. Graveside services with military rites were held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Pastor David Turner officiating. There was no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Humane Society or First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA.
