Ida Shrauner, 92 of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at her home. She was born November 18, 1920 in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of Henry and Eugenie Rossen Voss. On September 18, 1942, Ida was united in marriage to David Leroy Shrauner in Alexandria, MO. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2012. She graduated from Wayland High School in Wayland, MO with the Class of 1938. She continued her education at John Fletcher Bible College in Oskaloosa, IA and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. and the Wayland Methodist Church in Wayland, MO. She played the organ at Wayland Methodist Church for years and also was active in the United Methodist Women. She also used her talents to play the organ at many funerals and weddings. Ida was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mystery novels. She was active in her community and volunteered for different civic activities and extension clubs. She was very interested and involved in politics. She is survived by three sons, David E. Shrauner and his wife Reta of Robbinsdale, MN, Richard A. Shrauner of Keokuk, IA and Samuel H. Shrauner and his wife Pam of Champions Gate, FL, seven grandchildren, David Mitchell Shrauner of Fairmont, MN, Tammy M. Shrauner of Millbrook, AL, Sara E. Prigge of Watertown, WI, Molly A. Shrauner of Miami Beach, FL, Sameta J. Sosa of Uvalde, TX, Katy K. Thompson of Chandler, AZ, and Todd Shrauner of Yuma, AZ, nine great grandchildren, one brother, Daniel Voss of Riverside, CA and one sister, Eugenie Howard of Ventura, CA. She was also preceded in death by one son, Boyd Andrew Shrauner. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11th, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor John Raab officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
