Helen L. Roberts, 78, of Kahoka, MO, died Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born July 17, 1930 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Oscar and Lillian Branson Brown. Her home was at Argyle, IA until 1943 when her family moved to Luray, MO. She was baptized in the St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokuk, IA. After moving to Missouri she attended the Luray Methodist Church regularly. Helen was united in marriage to Felix Roberts on April 17, 1955 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2006. She was a hard working woman and had many jobs over the years including Hubingers, Sever Library and Farm Bureau, but her main job was raising her four children and taking care of her husband Felix. She enjoyed hand quilting and made many quilts in her lifetime. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Helen is survived by two daughters, Theresa "Tess" Kuchenbecker and her husband Jim of Eagle River, WI and Carolyn McCarty and her husband Bobby of Hurdland, MO, two sons, Marc Roberts and his wife Teresa of Mt. Ayr, IA and Joe Roberts and his wife Lisa of Kahoka, MO, fifteen grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel and Katie Kuchenbecker, Shane and Emily Clouse, Amanda, Debra and Matthew McCarty, Megan, Blake, and Nathan Roberts and Ashley, Ryan, Kailey and Jessica Roberts, a brother, Glen Brown and his wife Ann of Luray, MO, an aunt Alice Donahue of Keokuk, IA and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Taylor and two brothers, Ray and Kenneth Brown, also her father and mother in law, sister in law, two brothers in law and two nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 25 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clark County Ambulance or Dollar for Scholars.
