Harry P. Weirather, 87, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. Harry was born on May 18, 1926 in Keokuk, IA the son of Philip and Viola Fischer Weirather. Harry was a lifelong resident of Keokuk. He was a graduate of the Lincoln School of Welding, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington for five years and later at Modern Welding Company in Burlington, IA as a certified welder for 31 years until his retirement. Harry was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Iowa Hawkeye Football fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a big Jeff Gordon Fan and attended many NASCAR races, especially the Daytona 500 race. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle every chance he could. Harry was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk and the Keokuk Yacht Club. Harry is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Weirather of Keokuk, and Mrs. Gary (Helen) Lowenberg of Donnellson, IA, one brother, William Weirather of Cedar Rapids, IA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA with Father Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk and St. Vincent's School.
