Obituary

Harry E. Fox, 86, of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on January 25, 1920 in Alexandria, MO, the son of Earl and Ilene Falkenberg Fox. On December 4, 1944, Harry was united in marriage to Thelma Wooster in Keokuk, IA. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Pamela Strohmaier and her husband Robert of Montrose, IA and Linda Chaknine of Keokuk, IA, two granddaughters, Angela Hogge and Suzanne Rubio, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Coovert of Keokuk, IA, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Merle Fox in infancy and Ernest Fox, four sisters, Louise Edlen, Thelma Myers, Margie Nichols and Ethel Hanlin, one granddaughter, Melanie Rose, four brother-in-laws, Howard Coovert, Richard Nichols, Harold Meyers and Clayton Hanlin, and one sister-in-law, Beulah Fox. Harry was a lifelong crop farmer and had farmed in Clark County, Missouri and Lee County, IA. He also milked cows. He had also been employed at Midwest Carbide in Keokuk, IA. He enjoyed hunting and watching westerns on television. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 17 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bill Mitchell and Reverend Matt Hunt officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the Emphysema Foundation or the First Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
