Harry D. Dresser III, 73, of rural Keokuk, IA died Friday, July 5, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1939 in Keokuk, IA the son of Harry, Jr and Elizabeth Tweedy Dresser. On September 12, 1959 Harry was united in marriage to Susan Wray in Montrose, IA. She survives. Other survivors include, his mother, Elizabeth Dresser of Keokuk, two sons, Tim Dresser and his wife Rona of Longwood, FL, Michael Dresser and his wife Ruth of Montrose, IA, and one daughter, Lynn Zimmerman and her husband Ryan of St. Louis, MO, four grandchildren, Brent Dresser, Matthew Dresser, Rachel Warosh and her husband Greg, and Dayle Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Richard Kent Dresser in infancy; one sister, Maribeth Chaussee and one nephew, Kevin Chaussee. Harry graduated from the Montrose High School with the Class of 1957. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Lee County most of his life. Harry was a member of the Tri State Gun Club and enjoyed trapshooting and was an avid reader of shooting, farm, and auto magazines, after his retirement he enjoyed helping his boys do field work and driving his corvette. He was a wonderful, devoted husband, dad and grandpa who leaves for his family a lifetime of wonderful memories, especially giving hay rides at the annual fall gathering. He also enjoyed having coffee with the guys at Koehler's Barn. Fulfilling his wishes there will be no visitation or services. Memorials may be made to the Lee County Hospice or to the charity of the donor's choice.
