Harold L. Fowler, 59, of rural Keokuk, IA died Friday, August 18, 2006 at his home.
He was born August 30, 1946 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of Lloyd E. and Ruby P. Stockwell Fowler. He married Sheryl "Sherry" Wilson Copeland on March 4, 1993 at his home in Keokuk, IA. She survives.
Other survivors include: two step daughters, Tammy Boyer and her husband Brad of Farmington, IA, and Traci Schrader and her husband Bill of Ft. Madison, IA., Four grandchildren, Amber Dressler, Michelle Boyer, Jamee Boyer and Breanne Helmers, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son, Mark Copeland
Harold graduated from the Central Lee High School with the Class of 1964. He then entered the U.S. Army and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam Conflict.
He had farmed all his life on the family farm and was employed at Electro Metals for three years and then for the Fruehauf Corp in Ft. Madison for 26 years before his health forced him to retire in 1991.
He was a member of the Montrose Church of the Nazarene.
Harold loved to come to town and visit with his friends over several cups of coffee. He enjoyed hunting and loved animals.
Funeral serviceswere held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Rev. Preston Smith officiating.
Memorialswere established forthe Montrose Church of the Nazarene and the Montrose Rescue Squad.
