Gregory Alan Summers, 48, of Keokuk, IA died Monday, October 20, 2008 at his home. He was born January 10, 1960 in Keokuk, Iowa, the oldest son of Ernest Edward Jr. and Josephine Rosemary Humphrey Summers. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Kleen in Texas and to this union a daughter, Lacey J. Renee Summers, was born. He later married Kim Roberts and they divorced. Greg graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Keokuk. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk He had worked at Montgomery Tank Wash in Keokuk and also had worked as a tour guide at Interspace Caverns in Texas. His true heart was in Texas where he met and married Charlotte and loved dancing the two-step. He enjoyed reading, playing dice, cards, and dominos. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Greg is survived by his daughter, Lacey J. Renee Summers of Texas, one brother, Bruce Edward Summers and his wife Debbie of Hamilton, IL, two sisters, Cynthia Louise Wilson of Keokuk, IA and Gail Marlene Six and her husband Earl of Keokuk, IA, nieces and nephews, Trina Jenae Elshere, Caleigh Melia Summers, Savanna Jo Six, Bobby Lee Six, Kristen Claire Summers and Aaron Edward Summers, one great-nephew, Colton Michael Six, a step-sister, Jaqueline Renee Dunn Bowman of Texas and a step brother, Jeffrey Allen Dunn of North Carolina, an aunt, Louise Gooden of Keokuk, IA, an uncle, Richard Fred Humphrey of Keokuk, IA, several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 24 at the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk with Reverend Bill Mitchell officiating.
