View Video Tribute Grant Lamma, Jr., 81, of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on March 15, 1927 in Clayton, IL, the son of Grant and Edna Owens Lamma. On October 3, 1950, Grant was united in marriage to Nellie Wheeler in Mt. Sterling, IL. She survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Carolyn Hendrickson and her husband Jerry of Keokuk, IA, Edna Bailey and her husband Aubrey of Blacksburg, SC, Sandra Hobb of Keokuk, IA, Helen Hull and her husband Lance of Keokuk, IA, and Janet Lamma and her companion Joey Haislip of Hamilton, IL, five sons, William Lamma and his wife Linda of Warsaw, IL, Clarence Lamma and his companion Ann of Centerville, TN, David Lamma and his wife Betty of Salt Lake City, UT, Jimmy Lamma and his wife Cheryl of Keokuk and Charles Lamma and his wife Heather of St. Francisville, MO, forty three grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, Raymond Wheeler of Mt. Sterling, IL, and many special friends including Elmer and Candy Hobb, Jim Hobb, Pat and Herb Kaye, Ed Englebrecht, Sam Houston and Jack Garrett. He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, four brothers and four sisters. Grant had worked as a farmhand and at sawmills in Cooperstown, IL and Perry, IL. He also had been employed with the City of Warsaw, IL maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing, and repairing cars and lawn mowers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 2 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the family.
