Goldie Pruett, 95 of Montrose, IA passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 at her granddaughter’s house in Keokuk.
She was born on January 20, 1931 in Missouri the daughter of Fritz Bentzinger.
Goldie was first united in marriage to James Mixer. They later divorced. She then married Robert Smith and her preceded her in death on May 9, 1981. On May 14, 1983 Goldie married Richard Pruett. He passed away on June 13, 2006.
Goldie had been employed by DuPont in Ft. Madison, IA until her retirement and then went to work at Casey’s in Montrose until she retired in 1996.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, tending her flower beds and farming. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Christina St. Clair of Keokuk, Dakota Mixer of Montrose, IA, Brian Moeller and Andy Holmes and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Dolly Martin of Pennsylvania and one cousin, Dwight Jolly of Louisiana.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Mixer, one daughter, Marilyn Holmes, one sister and one great-grandson.
Services are pending.
