Glenn Edgar Peikett, 84, of Hamilton, IL died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on May 29, 1928 in Hannibal, MO, the son of George and Anna Peikett. He graduated from Hannibal High School. On March 3, 1951, Glenn was united in marriage to Mary M. Booth at the Christian Church parsonage in Hannibal, MO. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Glenn Edward Peikett of Hamilton, IL and Richard S. Peikett of Sutter, IL, one daughter, Christine Rosson of Hamilton, IL, four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. He had been employed with the Illinois Division of Highways as a Materials Engineer for forty years. Glenn was a ham radio operator and had talked to people from all over the United States and foreign countries. He had a private pilot license and enjoyed flying. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Glenn was a talented musician, he taught himself to play the guitar and volunteered to play and sing for the residents of Montebello HealthCare Center in Hamilton, IL. He also sang with the Great River Barbershop Quartet in Quincy, IL. No services will be held.
