Obituary

Glen Oren Myers, 68 of Keokuk, IA died Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.

He was born on October 28, 1954 in Key West, FL the son of Phillip D. Myers and V. Darlene Vice Byrne. On June 18, 1993, Glen was united in marriage to Donna Myers. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Trena Myers of Keokuk, IA; Lisa Myers Quimby (Jeff) of Goldsboro, NC; and Danielle Myers Davis (Mike) of Granite Falls, NC, one son, Josh Spence of Sioux City, IA, seven grandchildren, Brittany Sheppard, Prestyn Bradford, Carter Quimby, Caden Quimby, Michael Davis, Colt Quimby and Mia Davis and four great-grandchildren, Ava Sheppard Avery Cox, Alejandro Bradford, Aven Sheppard and another little Bradford girl on the way. He is also survived by two brothers, Danny Myers of Keokuk, IA and Phil Myers (Cathy) of Keokuk, four nieces and nephews and six great- nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, several aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Glen graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1973. He completed his associate degree at Southeastern Community College in Keokuk; undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. He also attended courses at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.

Glen was a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served during Desert Storm. Over the years, he had been employed by Roquette, Delta Airlines and was self-employed with his art business, Myers Art Service prior to retiring.

He was a member of the Montrose Nazarene Church in Montrose, IA and the American Legion Post #41 in Keokuk.

Glen enjoyed painting, photography, spending time with family and riding around in his teal blue Thunderbird. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed reminiscing about his high school football days.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Montrose Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Preston Smith officiating.

Visitation was held prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. at the church with family meeting with friends at that time. Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church.

A graveside service with military rites was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Keokuk National Cemetery.
