Glen W. Horst, 91, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Keokuk Area Hospital. He was born on September 14, 1913 in Rock Island, IL. On November 17, 1946, Glen was united in marriage to Betty L. Biddenstadt at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk, IA. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2001. Mr. Horst had lived in Keokuk for the last sixty years. He worked twenty-five years as a mailman for the U.S. Postal Service and ten years with the City of Keokuk until retiring in 1979. He was involved in many organizations such as the Elks, St. Paul United Church of Christ, Keokuk High School sports and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his son, Tyler Horst and his wife Barbara, of Naples, FL, daughter-in-law, Joan Horst of Newton, IA, two grandsons, Brett Horst, of Lowell, IN and Craig Horst, of Newton, IA, and a granddaughter, Cindy Bednarczyk, also of Newton. He is also survived by seven Kiel Horst, Tyler Horst, Lenny Bednarczyk, Lee Bednarczyk, Kristin Horst, Kimberly Horst and Rebecca Horst. great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a god-daughter, Lori Ricker. He was also preceded in death by one son, Lee V. Horst. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk, IA. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk
