Gertrude Magdalena Egley, 96, of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on March 16, 1918 in Wayland, MO, the daughter of Lewis and Magdalena Maurer Egley. She was a graduate of the Wayland, MO High School. Gertrude had been employed at State Central Bank in Keokuk for thirty-five years retiring in 1983. She was a faithful member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Keokuk and the LWML missionary society where she served as treasurer. She was also a member of the Lee County Historical Society and the Keokuk Art Center. She is survived by one brother, Elmer Egley of Keokuk , one great-niece, Cesilee Egley of Keokuk and several cousins. She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Egley and one nephew, Bruce Egley. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at the Lutheran Cemetery in Warsaw, IL with Reverend Lester Dumer officiating.
