Geraldine Yvonne Harmon, 80, of Keokuk, IA, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her home. She was born on April 26, 1928 in Keokuk, IA , the daughter of Lawrence and Thelma Schwiete Denmire. On October 26, 1946, Geraldine was united in marriage to Gerard W. "Jud" Harmon in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2003. Geraldine graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1945. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. She was also a member of Kings Daughters, the Southside Boat Club and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint and crocheting. She especially enjoyed playing Yahtzee and other board games with her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Gwynn Flambeau and her husband Larry of Keokuk, IA one son, John Harmon and his fiancé Joan Szalma of Keokuk, IA four grandchildren, Todd Flambeau, Cari Johnson, Gina Parrish and Erin Barnes, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Marcine Rhea and her husband Jamie of Carthage, IL, one niece and two nephews. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Barnes, one son, Greg Harmon, her parents and her step-mother, Edith Denmire. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 23 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Mike Shea officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arms of Angels or the Montrose Public Library.
