Gerald Anthony Spring, 69, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1946 in Keokuk, the son of John and Doris Wixom Spring. He graduated from Keokuk Senior High. Gerald was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. In his younger years he was active in track, archery, dancing and country music. Gerald will always be remembered as a kind and gentle person. Gerald is survived by one sister, Barbara Ann Hitchen of Las Vegas, NV, two aunts and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Spring, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial with military rites will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends at that time.
