Geneva O. Leake, 93, of Keokuk, IA died Saturday morning December 16, 2006 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born November 6, 1913 in Gorin, MO the daughter of Edmund and Mayme E. Murray Kenager. On October 4, 1940 in Kahoka, MO Geneva was united in marriage to Lester Eugene Leake. He preceded her in death. Geneva lived most of her life in Iowa moving from Missouri in 1934. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ. Geneva had been employed at St. Louis Die Casting in Keokuk for a short time. She enjoyed going fishing. She is survived by a friend and care giver, Laverne Gabel of Keokuk, IA and a friend she helped raise, Michael Fishback. Geneva was also preceded in death by two sisters and one niece. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 21, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church, Keokuk, IA.
