Gary Allen Sprague, 57 of Des Moines, IA formerly of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 4, 1962 in Iowa City, IA the son of Gary Robinson and Lily Sprague.
Gary had been employed at Anderson Storm Door Division in Des Moines, IA for nineteen years. He was a very hard worker and took pride in his work. His co-workers thought a lot of him as well as he did them. He loved his job and liked to joke around at work. He also loved to take his daughter McKenzie, down to the river to drive and loved playing basketball with her. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially on the holidays. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He truly will be missed by his family.
He is survived by one daughter, McKenzie Sprague (Andrea Henson) of Keokuk, two brothers, Allen Sprague and Eric Johnson of Minooka, IL, one sister, Leann Johnson, two special aunts, Sharon Sangster (Jim Clark) of Keokuk and Sharon Bell (Richard) of Keokuk, cousins, Todd Raher, Dina Robinson, Kia Sangster, Jennifer Sangster, Treyonna Sangster and their children, Kim Jones (Spencer), Andrea Tinder, Julie Tinder and Sandy Curfman and her children and a special friend, Anna Landaverde and her children, two special buddies, Jaryiah Nicastri and Enrique Martinez, Aunts, Uncles and other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, two grandmothers, Letha M. Rennaker and Marian E. Clark and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial was held in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
Visitation was held after 1 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2020 at the funeral home and family met with friends from 5-7 p.m.
