Gary D. Harryman, 75, of Keokuk, IA, formerly of Lexington, OK, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on Mary 24, 1931 in Lexington, OK, the son of George and Ruth Keys Harryman. On August 30, 1951, Gary was united in marriage to Virginia "Louise" Swafford. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Michael Harryman and his wife Carolyn of Keokuk, IA, Larry Harryman and his wife Angeles of Dallas, TX, one daughter, Vicky Skow and her husband Richard of Chatsworth, IL, twelve grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, two brothers, Gene Harryman and his wife Joann and Ronnie Harryman and his wife Mickie, all of Lexington, OK, and one sister, Betty Looman of Purcell, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert Harryman and one granddaughter. Gary was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the U.S.S. St. Paul during the Korean Conflict. Gary and Louise had lived in Oklahoma for twelve years and moved back to Keokuk one year ago to be near their son. He had been employed with the Santa Fe Railroad for 28 years and had been retired for the past twelve years. He loved the land and had farmed in Argyle, IA for twenty years and also raised longhorn cattle. He enjoyed going fishing. According to his wishes, his body was cremated and there were no services.
