Obituary

Gail Ruth Rose, 63, of Keokuk, IA formerly of Hamilton, IL died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Keokuk, IA. She was born on April 26, 1949 in New York, NY the daughter of Robert and Ruth Lee Collins. On October 19, 1974 Gail was united in marriage to Clyde Rose in Hamilton, IL. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2009. Gail graduated from the Hamilton High School with the Class of 1967. She then attended Western Illinois University for two years obtaining her Associates degree. She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church. Gail was employed at the Hamilton Press, Lofton and Sons Insurance Agency. She and Clyde owned and operated Clyde's Print Shop. She was also employed at the Hamilton Public Library for several years, where she enjoyed managing the Summer Reading Program, before her retirement. She also enjoyed working at the Hamilton Senior Citizens Center. Gail also loved to make homemade crafts, play Mahjong and Scrabble with her family. Gail is survived by one son, Jonathan Rose and his wife Rena of Burnside, IL, one daughter, Heather Rose Blackwell of Hamilton, IL, five grandchildren, Nathan and Alivia Rose and Sarah, Laura and Collin Blackwell, four sisters, Carol Mann and her husband Anthony of New Jersey, Robin Mott and her husband Robert of Hamilton, IL, Storm Hanks and her husband Stanley of Burnside, IL, and Wendy Collins of Hamilton, IL, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, IL with Pastor Jason Mott officiating. There was no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton Public Library for the young adult section.
