Freda Marie Burchett, 70, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her home. She was born on November 2, 1943 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Delbert and Esther Evelyn Brewer Arnold. On June 4, 1960, Freda was united in marriage to Charles Ernest Burchett, Jr. in Keokuk and they shared fifty-four wonderful years together. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Michael Burchett and his fiance' Chris Kirchmann of Marion, IA, three daughters, Deanna Huston and her husband Tim, Tina Davis and her husband John and Tracy Dresden all of Keokuk, fourteen grandchildren, Anthony Gibbs (Amy), Michael Burchett II, Steven Gibbs (Carry), Michael Ott (Jacque), Brett Davis, Stephanie Dresden, Thomas Schrader (Valaree), Jeffery Burchett (Jennifer), Jeremy Reichman (Lauren), Jennifer Dresden, Todd Davis (Lindsay), Tiffany Schrader, Andrew Huston (Kia) and Kenneth Dresden, fifteen great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Elijah, Ethan, Ryan, Leah, Jackson, Noah, Kinnick, Brinlee, Bryson, Bentley, Karsyn, Jaycie, Hunter, and Dominic, one uncle, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Neoma Hendricksmeyer Winn of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerald & Edward Arnold. Freda loved doing word-search puzzles. She bought them by the case and you rarely saw her without a puzzle book in her hands. There was nothing that Freda loved more than her husband, Ernie. They enjoyed doing everything together including traveling, bird-watching, hydroponic gardening, taking photographs and spending time with their family. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Scandinavian Cemetery in rural Argyle. Memorials may be made to the Lee County Hospice.
