Fred Louis Hocker, 60, of Argyle, IA died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
He was born on October 28, 1950 in Keokuk, IA the son of William and Maxine Kite Hocker. He married Beth Wood on September 6, 1969 in Colorado. They later divorced.
Fred graduated from Central Lee High School in Donnellson, IA with the Class of 1969.
He had been employed at Fruehauf in Ft. Madison, IA for twenty years and then at Keokuk Steel Casting in Keokuk, IA for one year.
Fred enjoyed being outdoors gardening, hunting raccoons and mushrooming. He also enjoyed playing euchre, horseshoes, shuffleboard and darts.
He is survived by three daughters, Amy Pardall and her husband Steve Hirner of Montrose, IA, Jenni Wixom and her husband Brad of Sutter, IL and Jessie Hocker of Montrose, IA, one son, Nic Hocker and his wife Brandi of Montrose, IA, twelve grandchildren, three brothers, Dave Hocker and his wife Pat of Keokuk, Wendell Hocker and his wife Barb of Ft. Madison, IA and Tom Hocker and his wife Connie of Donnellson, IA, two sisters, Virginia Calvert and her husband Ron of Donnellson, IA and Myrna Schreck and her husband Chuck of Minnesota, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Donald Hocker, William Hocker and John Hocker and one sister, Marilyn Penrod.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Argyle Community Center in Argyle , IA.
Visitation was held on Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA.
