View Video Tribute Franklin Eugene "Butch" Cady, Sr., 66 of Keokuk, IA died Monday, May 16, 2011 at his home. He was born November 8, 1944 in Keokuk, IA the son of Perry "Doc" and Verona Rose Cady. On December 13, 1996 Frank was united in marriage to Joann Johnson Scott in Keokuk, IA. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Frank Cady, Jr. of Keokuk, IA, three daughters, Michele Cady of Goosecreek, S.C., Christina "Tina" Money of Keokuk, IA and Leanna "Annie" Gluyas and her husband Jason of Covington, GA, three step-sons, James "Jimmy" Johnson of Macomb, IL, Glenn Snyder, Jr. of Keokuk, IA and Brandon Slusher of Keokuk, IA, two step-daughters, Amanda Scott and her husband Christopher of Keokuk, IA and Sarah Snyder of Keokuk, IA, fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one brother, Sam Cady of Keokuk, IA, two nieces, Janyce Cady Blankenship and Tammy Cady. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, Verona Rose Cady Gatton and step-father, Willie Gatton, whom Butch thought of as a father. Butch had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings for twenty-nine years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Road Rat Street Machine Car Club and the United Steel Workers Local 3311. Butch had a 1968 Impala convertible that he loved to cruise around in. He also enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastors Doug Horner and Tony Nye officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice.
