Frances V. Testman, 97, of Keokuk died Wednesday evening, October 23, 2013 at her home. She was born on February 14, 1916 in Montrose, IA the daughter of Theodore and Lelia Best Carlson. On September 25, 1935 Frances was united in marriage to Raymond Testman in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1993. Frances graduated from the Argyle High School with the Class of 1934. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Keokuk, the Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and the Estes Circle of the Church. She was also a member of the Sandusky Ladies Aid, Keokuk Garden Club, Sheller Globe Retirement Club 444 and AARP. She was employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for 25 years before her retirement in 1978. Frances was an avid reader; enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and baking goodies for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. Frances is survived by three daughters, LaVon Kienest of Manassas, VA, Irene Shoemaker and her husband Roy of Taylorville, IL, and Carrie Testman Anderson of Keokuk, IA, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren, one sister, Ina Wardell and her husband Hal of Arlington, TX. She was preceded in death by five brothers of whom two were in infancy, five sisters of which one was in infancy and one grandchild. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Rodney Underwood officiating. Burial was in the Scandinavian Cemetery in Argyle, IA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or the Scandinavian Cemetery.
