Florence Stark

Florence A. Williams Brewer Stark, 84, of Keokuk died Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk. She was born January 31, 1931 in Willard, MO the daughter of Henry and Julie Barbara Chandler Williams. She was first united in marriage to John Brewer in 1949, to which this union nine children were born. He preceded her in death in January 1965. She then married John "Buster" Stark in September of 1966. He preceded her in death in June 1, 2006. Florence was a member of Bel Air Baptist Church in Keokuk. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and made beautiful blankets for her family and friends. She is survived by four sons, Larry Brewer and his wife Sharon of St. Petersburg, FL, David Brewer and his wife Carol of Keokuk, Richard "Rick" Brewer of Des Moines, IA and Ronald Brewer and his wife Sandra of Des Moines, IA, five daughters, Pamela Whitaker and her husband Mike of Keokuk, Sandra Conn of Quincy, IL, Kathy Crowell and her husband Duke of Keokuk, Dorinda White of Keokuk and Rene Rose of Argyle, IA, thirty-two grandchildren, including Dana Stark Garrelts who she helped raise, and her husband Mike of Ohio, thirty-five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister, Myrtle McRea of Orlando, FL, several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husbands she was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters, three sons, Donald, Robert and John Brewer and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Bel Air Baptist Church.
