Evelyn Slutts, 91, of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the River Hills Village, Keokuk, IA. She was born September 26, 1916 in Mercer County, MO the daughter of Beldon and Lora Elizabeth Mercer Wilson. On August 12, 1936 Evelyn was united in marriage to Ralph Slutts in Mercer, MO. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1986. She was a member of the Keokuk Assembly of God Church. Evelyn enjoyed taking care of her family, keeping a clean house and attending church. She is survived by three sons, Ralph Slutts and his wife Maria of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Jerry Slutts and his wife Mary of Redding, CA, and Philip Slutts and his wife Genevieve of Hisperia, CA, three grandchildren, Kelly, Shaylynn and Brent,and several great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son Lloyd Slutts, one sister, Alma Jackson and one brother, Clarence Wilson. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor John Curtis officiating. Burial was in the Forbes Cemetery in Keosauqua, IA. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Assembly of God Church.
