Eunice V. Acker, 89, of Quincy, IL, formerly of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born on April 17, 1927 in Keokuk, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel Long Varner. She married Elmer E. Harrison on August 30, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1965. On May 10, 1968, Eunice was united in marriage to Lyle Acker. He survives. She is also survived by her children, David (Judy) Harrison of Norwalk, IA, Arlene Klingler of Quincy, IL, Ron Harrison of Tulsa, OK, Karen Harrison of Macomb, IL, Dianne Rohrough of Warsaw, IL and Jim Acker of Keokuk, grandchildren, Timm (Dan) Harrison, Kristal (Tim) Daniels, Lyle Martin, Dana Tipton, Brandon (Erin) Harrison, Jenna Harrison, Matthew Williams, Travis (Katy)Williams, Sarah (Michael) Acker and Jeremiah Acker, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one sister, Lois (Harold) Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Harrison, an infant son, Douglas Harrison, a son, Gary Harrison in 1977, seven brothers and one sister. Eunice was an active member of the Anchor of Hope Fellowship in Keokuk where she loved playing the piano and singing, until she moved to Quincy, IL in 2012. She then attended the Columbus Road Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of them. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Vigen Home in Keokuk with Ron Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to family.
