Estel Franklin Brown, 63, of Keokuk died Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home.
He was born June 27, 1951 in Maywood, MO the son of Perry and Alice Kathryn Tallman Brown. In 1973 he first married Sharon Kline in Keokuk. They later divorced. In November of 2007 he was united in marriage to Joy Jobe in Keokuk. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Kathy Nelson (James Logsdon) of Payson, IL, one son, Chad Brown (Holly Burgess) of Keokuk, six grandchildren, Michelle Nelson, Stephanie Nelson, Sean Nelson, Gregory Mitchell, Caulin Brown and Laine Brown, one great-granddaughter, Avery Steele, five brothers, Raymond (Sheryl) Tallman of Keokuk, Pat Keefe of Keokuk, Kirk (Jackie) Keefe of Keokuk, Bryon (Pamela) Keefe of Muscatine, IA, and David (Amy) Keefe of Argyle, IA, two sisters Susie Riquire of CT and Mary (Kent) Edmiston of Keokuk and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles "Chucky" Brown and Michael Keefe.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Estel had been employed at several different companies including Electro Metals, Titan Wheel and Steel Castings.
He was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.
Estel liked being outdoors camping, gardening and doing yard work. He loved all animals and was an excellent cook and wood worker. He collected coins and enjoyed watching Nascar races on tv. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Vigen Memorial Home with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk.
