Eric Matthew Rhodes, 53 of Hamilton, IL passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

He was born August 22, 1969 in Keokuk, IA the son of Don and Linda Thornton Rhodes. Eric graduated from Hamilton High School with the class of 1987.

In May of 2006, Eric met Nikki Doty and they have been together ever since.

Survivors include his parents, Don and Linda Rhodes, Nikki Doty, two cats, Tipper and Gracie, one dog, Milo, two brothers, Brian Rhodes and Keith Rhodes, one niece, Megan Rhodes (Christopher Loring), one nephew, Drew Rhodes, one great-niece, Emma Loring and one great-nephew, Waylon Loring all of Hamilton, IL. He is also survived by one aunt, Mary Bolton of Hamilton, IL, one uncle, Jay Thornton (Margo) of Muscatine, IA and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Eric had been employed by Roquette in Keokuk for ten years.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Eric was an animal lover and loved all kinds of animals. He enjoyed tinkering on cars and engines and could fix anything. Eric also enjoyed buying and reselling various things and his favorite quote was "Let's get it done, not talk about it".

A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on September 30, 2022 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Father Tony Trosley officiating. Burial was held in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL.

Visitation was held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.  at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
