Enola Mae Rowe, 89 of Keokuk, IA, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA. She was born on October 9, 1916 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of John William and Amy Kerns Rooney. On June 13, 1942, Enola was united in marriage to Elvin C. Rowe in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2006. Enola's favorite pastimes included crocheting, sewing, quilting and knitting. She also enjoyed tending to her garden which she planted each year. She is survived by two sons, Gary Eugene Rowe Sr., and his wife Janette and Robert Elvin Rowe and his wife Regina of Keokuk, IA, eight grandchildren, Alphia Stanley, Donna Carter, Janette Looper, Gary Rowe, Jr., William Rowe, Charles Rowe, Michael Rowe, and Robert E. Rowe, Jr., thirteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Frances Hermes of Keokuk, IA. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 22 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in rural Keokuk, IA with Pastor Mike Shea officiating.
