Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Mosley, 98, of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at her home. She was born on April 24, 1915 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of David Wesley and Stella Lindner Haisch. Betty graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1932. She married Millard Randolph Williams on September 26, 1936 in Keokuk and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1940. She later married Tylee Barr Mosley on June 26, 1952 on Arkansas and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1977. Betty had been employed at Drydens/Sheller Globe in Keokuk for over forty-one years. Betty was a faithful member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA and served as the church organist for many years. She regularly attended the Thursday Ladies Bible Study and enjoyed the teachings and fellowship of that group. She was also a member of the Keokuk Garden Club and the Little Mound Cemetery Board. She enjoyed working in her garden and spent many hours canning the fruits of her labor. She also loved to hunt for mushrooms and cook them for her family. In her younger years she would go hunting with her husband and was known to be an excellent shot. Betty loved music and volunteered at local nursing homes, entertaining the residents with her organ music. Betty is survived by two nephews, Harold M. Haisch and his wife Janice of Wayland, MO and John J. Haisch and his wife Sharon of Alexandria, MO two nieces, Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson and her husband Don of Keokuk and Linda Storms of West Point, IA, a great niece and caregiver, Donna B. Wright of Argyle, IA and several other great nieces and nephews and many great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews and a world of friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harold Haisch, one niece, Judith Haisch and one sister-in-law, Ilene Haisch Walker. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Little Mound Cemetery, rural Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
