Elizabeth "Bette" Rose Wilsey, 80 of Keokuk died Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015.
She was born on August 10, 1935 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Floyd and Mae Cramer Gates.
She graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1951.
On August 14, 1952, Bette was united in marriage to Robert Marvin Wilsey in Keokuk. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter Jan Wilsey of Keokuk, one son, Robert Wilsey, Jr. (Michele) of Keokuk, four grandchildren, Joel Wilsey, Heather Baum (Jake), Sierra Wilsey and Kailey Wilsey, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Cathy, her siblings, and close family and friends.
Bette was a faithful member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Keokuk where she served as a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher for many years.
She had been employed at Bakers Rexall and Earls Jewelry in Keokuk and also at St. Joseph Hospital/Keokuk Area Hospital.
Bette was a caring, loving woman who was devoted to her husband and children. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends and camping trips to the Ozarks were always special times. She loved to read and spent time daily reading her Bible.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor David Turner officiating. Burial was in the Frazee Cemetery in Alexandria, MO.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends at that time.
