Elda L. Brownlee, 77, of Keokuk, IA died Friday, October 28, 2005 at the River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. Elda was born on March 19, 1928 near Warsaw, IL the daughter of Roy and Dora Phillips Brownlee. She attended school in Rock Island, IL. She had worked at Buddy L. Toy Co. in East Moline, IL and later owned and operated the Brownlee and Vermillion Printing business in Milan, IL for 25 years until she became disabled with Muscular Dystrophy, retiring in 1986. Elda loved the outdoors and painted several pictures, did wood carvings and all other crafts. She is survived by one sister: Lorna Polley of Keokuk, IA, a half-brother, Dave Finton of Warsaw, IL, one nephew, Rick Polley of Keokuk, IA ,great nieces, nephews and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two half brothers, Frances and Robert Brownlee Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Monday, October 31, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Charleston Cemetery, Charleston, IA. Memorials may be made to the River Hills Village or the Charleston Cemetery.
