Edward Arnold, 63, of Keokuk, Iowa, died Monday December 1, 2008 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on December 29, 1944 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Delbert and Esther Brewer Arnold. He had been employed by Keokuk Steel Castings for thirty four years retiring in 2001. Edward was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 3311. He loved model cars, collecting old coins and guns, going to the river with best friend, Pat and watching the eagles while enjoying a picnic or having a cup of coffee. He is survived by one son, Leonard Arnold and his companion Laura and her daughter Christine of Fairbanks AL, one daughter, Lora Smith and her husband Kevin of Kahoka, MO, a grandson, Dakota McCarty of Kahoka, MO, one sister Freda Burchett and her husband Ernie of Keokuk, IA, many nieces and nephews, and best friends, Pat Hammel and Alphie Ransdell of Keokuk, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerald "Jerry" Arnold. A Gathering of remembrance for family and friends was held on Wednesday, December 3 from 5-7 p.m. at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
