Obituary

Edna Miriam Buckallew, 83, of Kahoka, MO died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO. She was born September 3, 1930 in Clark County, Missouri the daughter of Harry and Eva Walker Brammer. She was united in marriage to Walter Glen Buckallew on August 29, 1958 in Clark County, Missouri. For 55 years they shared a love which saw them through the joys and sorrow of life together. Left to cherish her loving ways are her husband, Glen Buckallew of Kahoka, her daughter, Sherri St. Clair of Kahoka, her son, Brian Buckallew and his wife Julie of Des Moines, Iowa, five grandchildren, Ryan Douglas St. Clair of Kahoka, Alexis Lynn St. Clair, a student at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, Paige Kristine St. Clair of Kahoka, Megan Marie Buckallew and Nathan Glen Buckallew both of Des Moines, IA along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Miriam Buckallew, a son in law, Douglas St. Clair, two brothers, Robert and Harold Brammer, four sisters, Myrtle Beall, Lucile Maddox Higbee, Helen Hoewing and Mary Alice Kinkeade. Edna graduated from Kahoka High School with the Class of 1947. Before she married she worked for the superintendent of the Clark County School System. After she was married she was employed by the Sinclair Oil Company. When her children started school she then worked for the school in the cafeteria until she retired in 1990. She had a deep faith in God and was a faithful member of the Kahoka Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and was the Sunday School superintendent and Sunday school teacher. Edna had a beautiful alto voice which her and other church member sang many music specials. Her main priorities in her life were serving the Lord and her family. She was a role model to her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19th, 2014at the Kahoka Methodist Church with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kahoka Methodist Church or the Clark County Scholarship Fund formerly known as Dollars for Scholars.
