Obituary

E. Louise Logsdon, 97, of Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO. She was born on December 3, 1911 near St. Patrick, MO, the daughter of Walter Theodore and Winifred Thompson Bick. On December 3, 1930, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Henry J. "Jake" Logsdon at the St. Patrick Rectory in St. Patrick, MO and to this union eleven children were born. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1988. Louise was a lifelong resident of Clark County, MO and graduated from the St. Patrick High School with the Class of 1930. She was a devout Catholic, having converted to that faith in 1935. She was a member of the St. Patrick Chapter of the Daughters of Isabella, and a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Parish until she moved to Kahoka in 1987, at which time she became a member of the St. Michael's Parish. Louise enjoyed attending the social functions at her church, the Clark County Mule Festival and the horse races at the county fair. She especially loved the annual trips she took with her daughters. She is survived by four sons, Henry Theodore Logsdon and his wife Inge of Palm Bay, FL, Alfred S. "Bill" Logsdon and his wife Yoko of West Melbourne, FL, Franklin Reginald Logsdon and his wife Frances of TN, and David L. Logsdon and his wife Debra of Kahoka, MO, seven daughters, Frances Rebo and her husband Francis of Flemington, MO, Jane Spilker of Cambridge, IL, Alice L. Jenkins of Flemington, MO, Lucille "Ceil" Abbott of Osage Beach, MO, Karen Dyer and her husband Daniel of Spirit Lake, ID, Mary Rhodes and her husband Charles of Canton, MO and Joy Edmondson of Chatham, IL thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-eight great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Inis Lucille Bick in 1936, one granddaughter, Kimberly Sue Dyer, three son-in-laws, William O. Abbott, Lewis H. Spilker, II and Robert L. Jenkins, one grandson-in-law, Brent D. Lipper and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, MO with Father Paul Hartley officiating. Burial was in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Cemetery.
