Dorothy Marie Phillips, 86, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born on August 9, 1921 in Clark County, MO, the daughter of Frederick and Myrtle B. Gibson Kator. On June 21, 1942, Dorothy was united in marriage to Stewart Phillips in Kahoka, MO. He survives. She is also survived by one son, Terry Phillips and his wife Chelsea of Morton, IL and two grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruth Jones Reynolds and Eva Mae West. She graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1941. Dorothy and her husband were the co-owners of Central Laundry in Keokuk, IA for twenty four years and retired in 1981. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk. Dorothy loved to read and spend time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the First Christian Church in Keokuk with Reverend Matt Hunt officiating. Burial was in Frazee cemetery in rural Alexandria, MO. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Keokuk.
