Dorothy M. Headrick, 84, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Keokuk Area Hospital. She was born on February 24, 1922 in Canton, MO, the daughter of James and Elma Garkie Selves. On September 21, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to R. Glenn Headrick in Hannibal, MO. He preceded in death on February 23, 1982. Dorothy and her husband Glenn owned and operated Headrick's Shoe Repair in Keokuk, IA for almost twenty years. Dorothy was then employed at Denholms IGA in Keokuk, IA for ten years. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Keokuk and most recently had been attending Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. She was also a member of Modern Woodmen of America. She had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross, helping with the Bloodmobile and also being a donor of over fourteen gallons. She is survived by one son, Gary Headrick of LaGrange, GA, one daughter, Carol Neal-McCall of Keokuk, IA, four grandchildren, Mandy Hamilton, Meghan Hamilton, Travis Headrick and Stephanie McKee and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Selves and Clyde W. Selves and two sisters, Frances Pullium and Helen Frericks. Funeral serviceswere held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 11 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bill Olmsted officiating. Burialwas in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorialswere established forthe First Baptist Churchand the Trinity United Methodist Church.
