Dorothy Grimpe, 93, of Keokuk died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. She was born June 1, 1921 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Edmund and Fern Woods Wustrow. On December 27, 1939, she was united in marriage to Harry Grimpe. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1998. She was a member of the Lee County Historical Society and a past member of the resident advocate committee at River Hills Village. Dorothy was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk and was also a member of the United Methodist Women. She is survived by a daughter Barbara Grimpe of Keokuk, a son Russell Grimpe of Skiatook, OK, a brother, Robert Wustrow of Keokuk and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons in infancy Robert E. and Ronald S. Grimpe. Memorial services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Reverend Missy Brown officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
