Dorothy M. Ensminger, 87, of Rio Rancho, NM, formerly of Kahoka, MO died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Albuquerque Heights Healthcare, Albuquerque, NM.
She was born on October 16, 1922 in Montrose, IA, the daughter of John and Olia Comstock Stockwell. On February 23, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to Ray Edward Ensminger in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1999.
Dorothy had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk, IA before her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kahoka, MO.
Dorothy enjoyed making all kinds of craft projects and traveling.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia French and her husband James of Rio Rancho, NM, Janice Einfeldt and her husband Mike of Alaska, two sons, Thomas Ensminger and his wife Susan of Ft. Madison, IA and Phillip Ensminger and his wife Connie of Hollister, MO, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother, Hubert Stockwell and his wife Alta of Montrose, IA, one sister, Wilma Walter of Argyle, IA.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Fowler, Edith Stockwell and Bertha Roseberry, and four brothers, Floyd, Jessie, Earl and Leo Stockwell.
Funeral serviceswere held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 2at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Rev. Beryl Cragg officiating. Burialwas in the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, IA.
Memorials may be made to the Kahoka United Methodist Church.
