Doris Stark

Doris A. Stark, 94, of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born on September 20, 1923 in Keokuk, the daughter of Albert and Mary Barbara Walter VanAusdall. She graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1942. On October 4, 1942, Doris was united in marriage to John Stark, Jr in Kahoka, MO. John preceded her in death on November 13, 2016. Doris was a faithful member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. She enjoyed all sports and was an avid Chicago Cub and Chicago Bulls fan. She enjoyed playing computer games and watching television. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Stark of Keokuk, her son, John (Angel) Stark, III of Montana, five grandchildren, Shane Stark of West Des Moines, Jamie Stark of Chicago, Josh Stark of Wichita, KS, David Ruark of Derby, KS and Lysa Lund of Valley Center, KS, ten great-grandchildren, one sister, Phyllis Ewing of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews including Dev Kiedaisch of Keokuk. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Constance "Connie" Ruark, one sister, Lucille Peterson, two brothers at birth, Roger and Leonard and two sons-in-law, Bob Stark and Tony Ruark. A visitation for family and friends was held from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. Burial will held at a later date in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ.
