Obituary

Doris Irene Heinze, 81, of Kahoka, MO died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on December 27, 1924 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Percy and Ruth Hereford Coppage. She married Roland Heinze on March 9, 1947 in Fort Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1984. Doris graduated from Ft. Madison High School in 1943. She was a secretary for Moores Business Forms in Kahoka, MO until the business burned. She then worked for Drydens (Sheller Globe) for 37 years until her retirement in 1989. Doris also enjoyed helping Roland on the farm. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO and was a long time member of the courtesy committee. For 40 years she was a member of the American Legion Auxililary. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and gardening. Doris traveled throughout the United States in every state, England and the Holy Land. She is survived by five brothers, Percy Eugene Coppage and his wife Rosemary, Charles Coppage and his wife Jean, William Coppage and his wife Willa, Jerry Coppage and his wife Rosena, all of Ft. Madison, IA and Greg Coppage and his wife Dianna of Claremore, OK and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Connie Jean and a sister Blanche Coppage. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 31, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Ken Beckmann officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Kahoka, MO. Visitation was held after 1 p.m. Thursday with family meeting with friends from 7-9 at Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO. Memorials were made to Clark County Nursing Home or St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. Pallbearers were Mitchell Coppage, Rick Anderberg, Billy Coppage, Craig Coppage, A.J. Mahler, and Jim Edwards. Ida Lou Ross was the organist and Wayne Blum sang "On Eagle's Wing's" and "How Great Thou Art."
