Obituary

Donna Nash, 93, of Hamilton, IL, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at Montebello Health Care Center in Hamilton, IL. She was born on December 7, 1915 in Ashton, MO, the daughter of James and May Medaris Jordon. On June 17, 1939, Donna was united in marriage to Charles Garnett in Elsberry, MO. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1976. She married William McAllister on April 15, 1982 in Chillicothe, MO. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1984. On April 14, 1990 Donna married Roy Nash in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2006. Donna received her teaching certificate from Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College in Kirksville, MO and taught school in Missouri for several years. She and her first husband, Charles, owned and operated a farm and dairy farm in Nauvoo, IL. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hamilton, IL. She is survived by two step-daughters, Shirley Higbee and her husband Gene of Keokuk, IA and Sonnia Rowlett of Hamilton, IL, one nephew, Charles Ray Garnett of Hamilton, IL, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and very close friends, Joe and Melody Riter of Keokuk, IA. She was also preceded in death by one step-daughter, Sandra LaBonte on December 25, 2007 and one step son-in-law, Roy Rowlett on April 20, 2008. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 29 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Dana Jurgens officiating. Burial was in the Combs Cemetery in Luray, MO. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Church of the Nazarene.
