Donna Rachel Dieterich, 74, of Kahoka died Friday, September 29, 2017 at her home in Kahoka. She was born September 24, 1943 the daughter of George and Anna Peck Speck in Des Moines, Iowa. On October 24, 1963 she was united in marriage to Larry Allen Dieterich in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2005. She graduated from Kahoka High School with the Class of 1962. Donna was a member of the Church of Christ in Keokuk. She enjoyed reading and collecting angels, stuffed animals and dolls. Donna always had a special place in her heart for four legged companions. She loved her daughters and cherished the time she spent with them. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Dieterich of Kahoka, Kimberly Dieterich (Larry Padgett) of Keokuk, four sisters, Ruth Speck of Raymore, MO, Ruby Diaz of Ankeny, IA, Rosemary Enslen of Vero Beach, FL, and Connie Van Elsen of St. Petersburg, FL, one brother, James Speck of Marshalltown, MO, three sisters in law, Frances Oilar (Roland), Karen Butts all of Kahoka and Mary Jo Speck of Raymore, MO, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Oliver, Frank and Fred Speck and a brother in law, James Diaz. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Doris Day Animal Foundation.
