Donald R. Printy, 71 of Montrose, IA formerly of Keokuk died August 22, 2009 in the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on October 27, 1937 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Roy and Emma Schevers Printy. On November 20, 1982 Donald was united in marriage to Terril Lynn Westermeyer in Argyle, IA. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Heidi Batley of Montrose, IA, two sons, Kris Printy and his wife Tina of Keokuk, IA, Scott Mead and his wife Shannon of Ashville, NC, two sisters, Jean Lemon and her husband Ed of Hamilton, IL, Kate O'Hara and her husband Phil of Keokuk, IA, two brothers Jimmy Printy and his wife Bonnie of Keokuk, IA, Davey Printy and his wife Shirley of Cedar Rapids, IA, eleven grandchildren, Nick, Sarah, Katie, Chris, Kaylee, Blake, Megan, Brandon, Nickolas, Zachary, and Alexandria, two great grandchildren, Tristan and Dallas, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tommy Printy. Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and served as Border Guard in Germany after the Korean War. Donald had been employed at several grocery stores as produce manager for 45 years and retired from County Market in 1997. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. Donald enjoyed gardening, fishing, remodeling and building things. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. A Memorial Service was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
