Donald Richard Kay, 79, of Keokuk, Iowa died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. He was born March 1, 1934, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Leroy and Lenora Jackson Kay. On April 6, 1964 he was united in marriage to Loretta Stoneking in Carthage, IL. For over 49 years they shared a love which saw them through the joys and sorrow of life. Donald was employed at the Keokuk Country Club for 36 years. He enjoyed woodworking. Through life's struggles he enjoyed listening to religious music to help soothe him. Most of all, Donald's life was devoted to his family and always made them a priority in his life. He is survived by his wife Loretta Kay of Keokuk, a son Michael Stoneking and his wife Robin of Ft. Madison, IA, two grandchildren, Michael Stoneking, Jr. and Whitney Stoneking, four step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Patricia Kay of Keokuk, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and fifteen brothers and sisters. According to his wishes he was cremated and there will be no services.
