Donald E. Glover, 79, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at his home. He was born on August 1, 1926 in Luray, MO, the son of Clifford and Gladys Cline Glover. On June 30, 1951, Donald was united in marriage to Shirley Louise Foley in Washington, IA. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Lynn "Suze" Riley and her husband Karl and JoAnn "Sis" Glover all of New London, IA, five grandchildren, Heather & Heidi Carver, Cale, Kelsey and Jordan Riley, four sisters, Dorothy Hutcherson and Darlene Graham both of Keokuk, IA, and Marianna Pontius and her husband Eugene of LaPrairie, IL, and Wanda Lyon and her husband Bill of Sand Marcos, TX, one aunt, Mary Kauzlarich of Keokuk, IA, several nieces and nephews, a daughter, Ulrike Rinkenauer of Germany, a son, Arkaluk, Petersen of Copenhagen, Denmark, both students that Donald & Shirley hosted through the AFS Exchange program, one Danish grandson and two German grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Leon Glover, two nephews and one Danish grandson. Donald graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1944. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during WW II. Donald had been employed at Hubingers in Keokuk, IA for 39 years, retiring in 1988. He attended the Sandusky United Methodist Church in Sandusky, IA. Donald loved dancing & playing cards. He also enjoyed all outdoor activities including fishing and hunting. He liked to work in his garden and was well known for his giant tomato plants. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend John Abraham officiating. Burial was in the Sandusky Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the Sandusky United Methodist Church and the Lee County Hospice.
