Donald E. Glasgow, 78, of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.
He was born on September 9, 1931 in Burlington, IA, the Son of George W. and Stella Spiker Glasgow. On April 11, 1953, Donald was united in marriage to Nadine Arnold in Jefferson City, MO.
He attended Keokuk High School in Keokuk, IA.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.
Donald was an avid boxing fan. He participated in numerous local and Golden Glove bouts. He also fought with the U.S. Army team at Fort Gordon, GA.
He was in the grocery and later fabric business in Keokuk for more than fifty years.
Donald was a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, MO where he had served as a deacon and elder.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nadine Glasgow of Keokuk, IA, two daughters, Melody Burke and her husband Dennis of Montrose, IA, and Lori Perry and her husband Jordan of Moberly, MO, two granddaughters, Michelle Sage and her husband Bryan of Keokuk and Jenna Schofield and her husband Adam of Euless, TX, one grandson, Kyler Perry of Moberly, MO, two great-grandchildren, Cole and Chloe Sage of Keokuk, IA, one sister-in-law, Madge Glasgow of Keokuk, IA, four brother-in-law, Jerry Arnold and his wife Carmen of Kahoka, MO, Larry Arnold and his wife Carolyn of Kahoka, MO, Milton Arnold and his wife Suzanne of Alexandria, MO, and John Value of Keokuk, IA and numerous nieces and nephews including Dan Glasgow and his wife Nedra and Rachael Trimble and her husband Bill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Glasgow, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 30 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Dr. David Castrodale officiating. Burialwas in Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA.
